- I've got a race on between a PPI MC288MT II V.34 and a Motorola LifeStyle
- V.34 modem. Which to keep? They both perform equally with my ISP (26.4k
- usually, never 28.8k) and download binary files at the same rate. (Both
- modems beat out the USR Sportster with latest ROM and the GV Teleport
- Platimum.) The PPI MC288MT is about $43 cheaper than the LifeStyle when
- you consider price difference plus the unincluded Mac cable with the
- latter.
-
- I've exercised the PPI pretty well and it has performed nicely. At present
- I can't see paying the extra $$ for the Motorola LifeStyle -- except if I
- ever try connecting my PPI to a Sportster, given the reports on this
- group about PPI and Sportsters locking horns on connect.
-
- Comments? Why should the Motorola be worth the extra money? (it does look
- nicer.... :)
