  12. I've got a race on between a PPI MC288MT II V.34 and a Motorola LifeStyle
  13. V.34 modem. Which to keep? They both perform equally with my ISP (26.4k
  14. usually, never 28.8k) and download binary files at the same rate. (Both
  15. modems beat out the USR Sportster with latest ROM and the GV Teleport
  16. Platimum.) The PPI MC288MT is about $43 cheaper than the LifeStyle when
  17. you consider price difference plus the unincluded Mac cable with the
  18. latter.

  20. I've exercised the PPI pretty well and it has performed nicely. At present
  21. I can't see paying the extra $$ for the Motorola LifeStyle -- except if I
  22. ever try connecting my PPI to a Sportster, given the reports on this
  23. group about PPI and Sportsters locking horns on connect.

  25. Comments? Why should the Motorola be worth the extra money? (it does look 
  26. nicer.... :)
